Portable Drum Set

The portable drum set is the latest phase in an ongoing personal project to fit an entire acoustic drum set in a single portable container.

The main challenge of compacting the shells and hardware together was solved by making cut-outs in the kick drum shell to securely hold the hardware, trimming the tom shell depth, and integrating the drum and cymbal stands into the base and frame of the box.

The latest prototype is constructed from 1/2" plywood surrounding a welded aluminum frame, contains a full 3-piece drum kit complete with cymbals and hardware and weighs just 45 pounds.
